Should I get the wireless apple keyboard and wireless mouse or the wired keyboard and wired mouse?
I'm getting a keyboard for my setup at home. I have a 13 inch macbook pro (the new model) and the 24 inch monitor for when I work on my desk at home. For the 24 inch screen, is it better to get the wireless apple keyboard and mouse or the wired keyboard and mouse. Also is it worth the money to get both wireless?
It really depends on you. Both have good and bad features. The wired ones have the wire (naturally) which can get in the way on occasion and limit where the computer can be placed. The wireless have batteries which die on occasion. (Especially the mouse if you do a lot of point and click things like 1st person shooter games.) My keyboards usually need battery replacement a couple of times a year, but if I am using the mouse heavily, it can need batteries every week or two. Both use standard AA batteries, (2 in the mouse and 4 in the keyboard) so it's nothing really expensive to replace them. It's just the inconvenience and the occasional "Bluetooth device not found" message that can be very annoying at start up. I would get both the same simply because if 1 is wired, it limits the location of the computer. That defeats one reason for spending the extra money for the wireless. (The wireless keyboard does NOT have any USB ports like those on the wired keyboard, so a wired mouse would have to be plugged into the computer directly or via a USB hub if the keyboard is wireless.)

Would it possible to make a wired keyboard wireless?
I have looked all over and cant seem to find anything that adapts to a say wired usb keyboard that goes onto the end of the wire for the keyboard and another part that goes into the computer so that i can wirelessly use it.
Is there a way to make a wired keyboard wireless?
Picture this, a wireless usb2 dongle where you stick part of it into you pc, then you tuck away your keyboard's wire and stick the other part of the dongle into it.
I know it sounds a bit awkward but I'm just asking out of curiosity. The keyboard needs a power supply for its light but that could easily be supplied by a battery pack in the 'dongle'.
I've seen some pretty good gaming keyboards around and, because of many reasons they're all wired however I don't have room to pass another wire through since I'd have to alter the furniture.
this was just a thought, not that I intend to do it! I'm just curious if the market offers such a gadget.
There is a blue tooth device you can plug in any PS2 device and the other end into the PC's USB port. Never used on before. check out this web site. http://instruct1.cit.cornell.edu/courses/ee476/FinalProjects/s2003/lph2/WirelessKybd/index.html
Does the apple wired keyboard work with windows 7?
I am thinking about getting apples sweet keyboard for windows 7,and i need to know for sure that if i plug it in it would install the required drivers and work perfectly (exept volume change shortcut ETC..) or would it just not pick it up? (this is the wired version not the wireless bluetooth version.)
All, Mac Mouses, Keybords, and TrackPads work with PC's.
